Qualification Requirements

DIPLOMA IN GEOMATICS

Applicants may qualify for entry into the Geomatics diploma programme (NTAL 5-6) by satisfying the following requirements:

Principal pass in Mathematics or Physics in the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations;

OR a Certificate in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Cartography or equivalent qualifications from an Institution approved by NACTVET.

BASIC CERTIFICATE IN GEOMATICS

Applicants may qualify for entry into the Basic Certificate in Geomatics course by satisfying the following requirements:

The candidate must have at least a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with a minimum grade of "D" or above in either Mathematics or Physics (or Engineering Science), and Geography, and English;

OR the candidate should have equivalent qualifications from an institution approved by the Board

DIPLOMA IN URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING

Applicants may qualify for entry into the Urban and Regional Planning diploma course by satisfying the following requirements;

The candidate should have at least a Principal level pass and a Subsidiary in Science Subjects in the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations.

OR

The candidate should have a certificate in Urban And Regional Planning or equivalent certificate with a credit from Ardhi Institute Morogoro.

OR

The candidate should have equivalent qualifications from an institution approved by the Board.

BASIC CERTIFICATE IN URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING

Applicants may qualify for entry into the Basic certificate in Urban and Regional Planning course by satisfying the following requirements:

The candidate should have at least the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with passes at least grade “D” or above in: Mathematics, Physics (or Engineering Science), Geography and English

OR

The candidate should have equivalent qualifications from an institution approved by the Board

DIPLOMA IN GIS

The minimum entry qualification for the Diploma in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) is an Advanced Certificate of Secondary School Education (ACSSE) with a principal pass in Mathematics, Physics, Geography, Biology, or Chemistry. Alternatively, a Certificate in GIS, Geomatics, Cartography, or a Full Technician Certificate is also accepted.

BASIC CERTIFICATE IN GIS

The minimum entry qualification for the Basic Certificate program is a Certificate of Secondary School Education (CSSE) with a minimum of four "D" passes: TWO of the passes should be in Mathematics, Physics, Geography, or Chemistry subjects; OR a Certificate of Secondary Education and National Vocational Training Award Level 3 (NVTA 3).
